Wholistic Lifestyles Plant Based Diet

Morning
In the morning, I drink a couple of glasses of water to start my day. For me, drinking water is essential for optimal health and well-being. About an hour later, I usually have some raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and sliced bananas to begin my day. I also choose whole grain oatmeal topped with raw agave, chia seeds, cinnamon, and mixed with almond milk. My mostly plant-based diet is my secret to longevity! Another morning ritual is my immune-boosting shake. For that, I blend blueberries, raspberries, cacao, blackberries, turmeric, ginger, and spirulina with almond milk as the base. A good plant-based protein source can also be added as an option.

Afternoon
I don’t really eat heavy in the afternoon. For me, it’s not about eating on a schedule but eating when I’m hungry. I usually have a fresh tossed salad with mixed veggies, sometimes served with fruit and a healthy dressing. To be completely open and honest, I occasionally have some wild-caught salmon from a well-sourced place. Now, some people may say that’s not plant-based, but since I eat almost 90 percent plant-based most of the time, I couldn’t care less what others think or say. What works for me may not work for the next person. If I’m not very hungry, my go-to snacks are fruits like apples, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon (when in season), oranges, and so on.

Evening
Honestly, if I'm not cooking at home, some of my go-to options are Cava, Original Chop Shop, True Food Kitchen, the Whole Foods food bar and any other veggie friendly places. At Cava, I’ll do a veggie bowl of course without the added sauces. My veggie bowl usually includes brown rice, black beans, green, red, and yellow peppers, onions, and any other available veggies.

Snacks
Nuts are one of my favorite snacks. My go-tos are usually walnuts, cashews, almonds, and brazil nuts. As I mentioned earlier, fruits are always something I have in my hand too. Cashew yogurt is another go-to for me. It's loaded with billions of probiotics. Cashew yogurt is non-dairy and low in suga. Lastly, I almost forgot my 85% cacao dark chocolate, which is also a go to for me. Eighty-five percent dark chocolate is rich in polyphenols.
