Wholistic Lifestyles Plant Based Diet
Morning
In the morning, I'll drink couple of glasses of water to get my day started. For me drinking water is essential to optimal health and well being. An hour later, I’ll usually have some raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and some sliced bananas to start my day. I will also choose a whole grain oatmeal with some raw agave, chia seeds, cinnamon, and mix it with almond milk. My mostly plant based diet is my secret to longevity! Another morning ritual is my immune boosting shake. For that I’ll do blueberries, raspberries, cacao, blackberries, turmeric, ginger and spirulina with almond milk as my base. A good plant based protein source can also be an option to add.
Afternoon
I don’t really eat heavy in the afternoon. For me, it's not about eating in order but eating when I'm hungry. I usually do a fresh tossed salad with mixed veggies, sometimes served with fruit and a healthy dressing. To be completely open and honest I will occasionally have some (wild caught) salmon from a well sourced place. Now, some people may say that's not plant based, but eating almost 90 percent plant based most of the time I could care less what people think and say. What works for me may not work for the next person. If I'm not that hungry, my go tos are fruits like apples, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon (when in season), oranges, etc.
Evening
Honestly, If I'm not cooking at home, some of my options would be Cava, Original Chop Shop, True Food Kitchen, the Whole Foods food bar and any other veggie friendly places. At Cava, I’ll do a veggie bowl of course without the added sauces. My veggie bowl usually consists of brown rice, black beans, green peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers, onions and any other veggies they may have that day.
Snacks
Nuts are one of my favorite snacks. My go tos are usually always walnuts, cashews, almonds, and brazil nuts. As I mentioned earlier, fruits are always something I have in my hand too. Cashew yogurt is another go to for me. It's loaded with billions of probiotics. Cashew yogurt is non-dairy and it also has very low sugar content. Lastly, I almost forgot my 85% cacao dark chocolate, which is also a go to for me. 85% dark chocolate is loaded with polyphenols.
